Oregon State University was founded in 1858 by Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, in Corvallis on the west coast of the United States. It was officially renamed Oregon State University in 1937. In January 2004, Oregon State University was appointed as one of the five centers participating in the Solar Grants Program. On April 2, 2020, the university, along with Nanjing University and other universities, established the International University Climate Alliance.
